Ogun varsity proscribes students union

Ogun - The management of the Olabisi Onabanjo
University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun state, has scrapped the
student union government of the institution,
Premium Times reports.
The school authorities accused the students' body of
conniving with external forces and unregistered
groups to disrupt academic activities that led to the
shutting down of the institution by the state
government.

The president of the union, Ifade Olusegun, said the
university lacks the power to proscribe the union as
the body is a constitutional right.
The student of the institution had embarked on a
two-day protest, demanding that the tuition fees
introduced by the state government be further
reduced.
